TERMS OF SERVICE

Last updated: 1 July 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Seater website (seater.co) and the purchase of products and services from Seater Ltd. Please read these Terms carefully before placing an order, booking a showroom visit, or engaging our services. By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms in full.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website or place an order with us.

  1. ABOUT US

Seater Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is at 12 Broadwick Street, Soho, London, W1F 8HW, United Kingdom. You can reach us at hello@seater.co or on +44 20 7123 4567.

  1. USE OF OUR WEBSITE

You may use our website for lawful personal and commercial purposes only. By using our website, you agree that you will not: use the website in any way that breaches applicable local, national, or international law or regulation; transmit unsolicited commercial communications or spam; attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our website, servers, or systems connected to our website; introduce viruses, trojans, or other malicious or harmful material; reproduce, copy, resell, or exploit any part of the website without our express written permission; or use our website in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair it.

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate your access to the website at any time and without notice if we believe these Terms have been breached or if we are required to do so by law.

  1. PRODUCT INFORMATION AND ACCURACY

We make every reasonable effort to ensure that product descriptions, specifications, dimensions, materials, and pricing on our website are accurate and current. Leather is a natural material and variations in grain, texture, and tone between hides are inherent and not considered a defect. Product photography is as accurate as photographic and screen conditions allow, but we strongly recommend requesting leather swatches before placing a bespoke or high-value order, as colour rendering varies across screens and environments.

In the event of a pricing error on our website, we reserve the right to cancel the affected order and issue a full refund before notifying you of the correct price. We will not be obligated to fulfil an order at an incorrectly stated price.

  1. ORDERS AND CONTRACT FORMATION

When you place an order through our website or confirm an order following a consultation, you are making an offer to purchase the specified products at the stated price and specification. Receipt of an order confirmation email acknowledges that we have received your order but does not constitute acceptance.

A binding contract between you and Seater Ltd is formed at the point we confirm that your order has been accepted and, where applicable, production has commenced. For bespoke and made-to-order chairs, acceptance is confirmed in writing following receipt of your deposit payment.

We reserve the right to decline any order at our discretion, including where a product is unavailable, where payment cannot be processed, where we identify a material error in the order, or where we have reason to suspect fraud or misuse. In such cases, we will notify you promptly and issue a full refund of any payment received.

  1. PRICING AND PAYMENT

All prices displayed on our website are in pound sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of applicable UK VAT unless otherwise stated. Delivery and freight charges are displayed separately and confirmed at the point of order.

For in-stock orders, full payment is required at the time of placing your order. For bespoke and made-to-order chairs, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total order value is required to confirm and commence production. The remaining balance is due and payable prior to delivery or collection.

For trade account holders and qualifying large-volume orders, payment terms may be available at our discretion. All payment terms are confirmed in writing prior to the commencement of any order under such an arrangement.

We accept payment via the methods listed at checkout. All payments are processed securely by our payment provider. We do not store your full card details.

  1. BESPOKE AND CUSTOM ORDERS

Seater offers bespoke upholstery options including custom leather selection, leg finish, stitch detail, seat fill, and arm configuration on select models. Bespoke orders are made to your specific requirements and are non-cancellable and non-refundable once production has commenced, except in the case of a manufacturing defect.

Lead times for bespoke and custom-upholstered chairs are typically 6 to 10 weeks from receipt of deposit, depending on the model, specification, and current production schedule. We will confirm the estimated lead time in writing at the point of order. Lead times are estimates and not contractual guarantees. We will notify you promptly of any material change to your estimated delivery date.

  1. DELIVERY

We offer white-glove delivery on all Seater orders. This includes in-home or in-office delivery, professional placement in your chosen location, packaging removal, and a care and maintenance walkthrough. Delivery is by appointment and coordinated directly with you following order confirmation.

Standard UK delivery is available within 5 to 10 business days for in-stock items. International delivery timelines are confirmed at the point of order and vary by destination. We deliver to the UK, Europe, West Africa, East Africa, the Middle East, and selected other regions via specialist furniture freight partners.

Risk in the products passes to you upon delivery and signed acceptance. Title to the products passes to you upon receipt of full payment. We are not responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control including extreme weather events, freight disruption, customs clearance delays, or industrial action.

For international orders, import duties, customs fees, and applicable local taxes are the responsibility of the recipient and are not included in our pricing unless expressly stated.

  1. RETURNS AND REFUNDS

In-Stock Items: We offer a 14-day return window for in-stock chairs purchased in their standard configuration, provided the item is returned in its original, unused condition with all original packaging. To initiate a return, contact us at hello@seater.co within 14 days of delivery with your order reference and reason for return. We will arrange collection at a time that suits you. Return freight costs are at the customer's expense unless the return is due to a defect or error on our part. Refunds are processed within 10 business days of our receiving and inspecting the returned item.

Bespoke and Custom Orders: Made-to-order and custom-upholstered chairs are non-returnable and non-refundable except in the case of a manufacturing defect. If you believe your chair has a manufacturing defect, please contact us within 14 days of delivery with photographic evidence and a written description of the issue.

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and applicable distance selling regulations are not affected by this policy.

  1. WARRANTY

All Seater chairs carry a 5-year structural warranty covering the hardwood frame, joinery, and base mechanism against manufacturing defect under normal domestic or office use. All Seater chairs also carry a 2-year leather warranty covering delamination, cracking, or premature deterioration under normal use and with reasonable care.

These warranties do not cover: damage caused by misuse, accident, or negligence; damage caused by exposure to direct sunlight, extreme heat, or moisture beyond normal conditions; fair wear and tear; damage caused by the application of unsuitable cleaning or conditioning products; or modifications made by the customer or a third party.

To make a warranty claim, contact us at hello@seater.co with your order reference, proof of purchase, and a description and photographs of the issue. We will assess the claim and, where valid, repair or replace the affected component or chair at our discretion. We also offer a paid leather care and repair service outside of warranty — contact us for details.

  1. TRADE ACCOUNTS AND DESIGNER PROGRAMME

Seater operates a trade programme for interior designers, architects, and commercial specifiers. Trade account holders receive access to preferred pricing, dedicated account management, priority swatch service, and project support from specification through to installation.

Trade accounts are subject to approval and are governed by a separate Trade Account Agreement provided at the time of application. Trade pricing and terms are confidential and may not be disclosed to third parties. Seater reserves the right to withdraw trade account access where the terms of the Trade Account Agreement are not met.

  1. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All content on the Seater website including text, photography, product imagery, illustrations, logos, design, and compiled content is the property of Seater Ltd or its licensed contributors and is protected by UK and international intellectual property law.

You may not reproduce, distribute, republish, display, or create derivative works from any content on our website without our prior written consent. The Seater name, wordmark, and logo are trademarks of Seater Ltd. Unauthorised use of our trademarks is prohibited.

Interior designers and press contacts may request permission to use product photography for editorial and portfolio purposes by contacting hello@seater.co.

  1. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Seater Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special loss or damage arising from your use of our website or products, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of business, loss of data, or reputational damage.

Our total aggregate liability to you in connection with any order or contract shall not exceed the total value of the products purchased in that order. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

  1. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND CONTENT

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, including those of our trade partners, press features, and showroom affiliates. These links are provided for reference and convenience only. We do not control third-party websites and accept no responsibility for their content, availability, accuracy, or privacy practices. Accessing any third-party website from a link on our site is at your own risk.

  1. FORCE MAJEURE

We shall not be in breach of these Terms or liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations where such delay or failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, pandemic or epidemic, natural disaster, government action or restriction, freight disruption, supplier failure, or industrial action. We will notify you as soon as reasonably practicable of any such circumstance and will use reasonable endeavours to resume performance as quickly as possible.

  1. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, including any question regarding their existence, validity, or termination, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact us first at hello@seater.co. We are committed to resolving all concerns promptly and fairly. If we are unable to resolve your complaint directly, you may be entitled to refer the matter to an alternative dispute resolution scheme. Details are available on request.

  1. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We reserve the right to update or amend these Terms of Service at any time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the date of last update displayed at the top. Your continued use of our website or placing of a new order following any amendment constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically. For material changes, we will provide notice via email or a prominent banner on our website.

  1. SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severed from the remainder of the Terms, which shall continue in full force and effect.
